David Figueroa García
David Figueroa García is a writer-director from Mexico City and co-owner of the independent production company Fidelio Films. His work has been seen in festivals around the world and has won him prestigious awards from the Directors Guild of America and Brooklyn Arts Council, among others. He is currently based out of Brooklyn, New York.
== Early life ==
David was born and raised in Mexico City. His very first memory is looking out his window and seeing a building collapse during an earthquake in 1985. Ever since, he’s been able to see the beauty in chaos.〔http://www.brooklynartscouncil.org/artists/21134〕
After studying computer science at the Mexican National Polytech and earning a B.A. in Classic Literature from the City University of New York, David continued on to receive a Master of Fine Arts in Film from Columbia University. There he met fellow students Mauro Mueller, Mark Raso, and Mauricio Leiva-Cock, who would eventually become his co-owners of an independent production company, Fidelio Films.
